アルファベットの歌といえば、みんなが知っている超有名な『The ABC Song』！

このシンプルな歌詞の中に、英語学習でとても重要な2つの文法ポイントが隠されています。
今回はこの歌詞の中の、２つの文法ポイント、現在完了形and勧誘形について解説します。

【解説】
現在完了形を使うと、過去の出来事が現在にも影響している状態を表すことができます。
例えば、「I’ve sung the ABCs.」は、「（さっきまでABCの歌を歌っていたけど、）今はもうABCの歌を歌い終わった」というニュアンスが表現できます。
このように、現在完了形は過去の経験や状態が現在まで続いていることを表すときに使われます。
「もうABCを覚えたよ！」という達成感や自信を表現するのにぴったりですね！

「Won’t you…」は丁寧な勧誘の表現で、「一緒に〇〇しようよ！」と相手を誘うときに使われます。
勧誘形は、相手に行動を促すときに使う表現です。ここでは、歌い終わった後に、友達や家族に一緒に歌おうと呼びかけている場面を表しています。
例）Let’s play outside. Won’t you come with me?
（外で遊ぼうよ！一緒に行かない？）
相手に行動を促す英語の表現は、他にもありますので、いくつかご紹介いたします！
・Will you ～?：～してくれますか？（丁寧な依頼）

私が、英語おもちゃを選ぶときは、小文字のアルファベットが入っているものを選ぶようにしていました。
日本で市販されているパズルや積み木に書かれているアルファベットは大文字のものが多いですよね。
でも、子供が英語を読み始めたときに苦労するのは小文字のアルファベットis.
大文字は A 、H 、M 、O 、T 、V 、W など、左右対称の文字が多くて覚えやすいんです。
一方、小文字は b と d , p と q , i と j など、形が似ていて特徴が掴みにくいため、覚えるのに苦戦する子が多いです。
