このお歌は、バースデーケーキに立てられたキャンドルを1本ずつ吹き消していくという、まさにお誕生日ならではのシーンが描かれています🎂🕯️

このフレーズを繰り返すことで、if構文（もし〜なら）の感覚的な理解が育ち、さらに数が減っていく様子（5→4→3…）を、英語で自然に体感できるようになっています✨

3 コラム ～可算名詞と不可算名詞をイメージしよう~
今回のお歌のキーフレーズはこちらです👇
- Eat a piece of birthday cake.（命令文／不可算名詞）
- Birthday cake is fun to eat!（不定詞・名詞的用法）
このフレーズをもとに、可算名詞・不可算名詞、そして命令文について解説します✏️
✅ 可算名詞・不可算名詞ってなに？
英語の名詞は、大きく2種類に分かれます。
- 可算名詞（countable nouns）
→ 一つ・二つと数えられる名詞。
例：apple, book, dog など
→ 数えるときは “a(n)〜” や “two 〜s” のように変化します。 - 不可算名詞（uncountable nouns）
→ 数えられない名詞（液体・素材・抽象的なもの）。
例：water, sugar, advice, cake など
→ “a(n)” や “〜s” はつけません。
えっ、ケーキ（cake）って数えられないの？と思うかもしれませんが…
実は、“ケーキ” は通常「ホールケーキ」を意味するため、ひと切れに分けると次のように表現されます👇
- a piece of cake（ケーキ1切れ）
- two pieces of cake（ケーキ2切れ）
🎂《Ten Little Candles》にも登場しますね！
ちなみに、カップケーキ（cupcake）は“個別の形がある”ので可算名詞です。
→ a cupcake / two cupcakes のように数えます🍰
✅ 応用：リンゴやチーズはどうなる？
- an apple（りんご1個） → 可算名詞
- apple slices / pieces of apple（カットされたりんご） → 不可算扱い
- a cheese（固まりのチーズ1個）
- a piece of cheese / slices of cheese → より日常的！
In this way,「形があるもの」→可算、「形を崩したもの」→不可算という感覚で捉えるとわかりやすいです🌟
✅ 命令文も一緒にインプット！
Eat a piece of birthday cake. は、命令文の形になっています🍰
命令文の基本ルールは次のとおり👇
- 動詞の原形で始める（主語 “you” は省略）
- 終わりはピリオドか “!”（感嘆符）
🎤 DWEでは以下のような命令文も登場します。

Don’t do it!（それはやめて！）
📘 Book 10, p.36
Don’t worry!（心配しないで！）
📘 Book 10, p.33
Never swing on an elephant’s trunk.
（象の鼻の上でブランコしちゃダメ！）
→ “Don’t 〜” や “Never 〜” を使えば、禁止の命令文になります。
このように、「可算・不可算名詞」と「命令文」は、歌や日常会話の中で自然にインプットされていくもの✨

「TACをやりたい！✨」そんな日が来るとは…思ってもみませんでした😂
実は、息子が大好きなマックィーンを使って、TACポスト📮を手作りしたことが大きなきっかけだったんです🚗💨
ポストのお口にあたる部分にカード投入口を作って、
そこにTACカードを入れるとき、こんなふうに歌って遊んでいました👇
🎵 Yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy card!
TAC card is good, TAC card is sweet, Eat a card with your hands, TAC card is fun to eat!
もちろん、カードは「食べ物」じゃないし、正確な歌詞でもないかもしれません。
でも！「その瞬間を楽しくする」って、それ以上に価値があるんですよね🥰✨
歌いながら、スピードを変えたり、早口で遊んだり…
息子は「これがやりたいからTACやろう〜！」と自らカードを用意してくれるようになりました👏✨
✅ きっかけは何でもOK！「楽しい」がTACの習慣をつくる
この“マックィーンポスト”と歌のおかげで、なんとTACを一周！することができた我が家。
子どもって、ずっと同じことを喜ぶわけじゃないけど、
数日間でも楽しんでくれたら、その間に“習慣の種”をまけるんです🌱
手作りポストが難しければ、PAのカエルさんパペット🐸や、おうちにあるぬいぐるみでも十分OK！
お子さんが「楽しい！」と思える工夫をちょっと取り入れるだけで、TACの時間がグッと変わりますよ☺️🧡
