今回はDWEのブルーで扱われている《💿【32】How Old Are You？》の歌詞と該当する《📙BOOK３》の内容を種として、“おうち英語”の学びの芽を育てていきます📝🌱
1 Introduction of the venue
今回のお歌では、子どもたちが互いに年齢をたずね合い、どちらが年上かを比べている場面が描かれています👦👧
How old are you?
などのフレーズが登場しますが、このような「年齢」「数」「比較」の表現は、ある程度“数の概念”が育ってからでないと理解しにくいものです。
でも、だからといって無理に理解させようとしなくても大丈夫✨
たとえば、ゆめがこのお歌を口ずさんでいたのは、DWEを始めて半年ほどたった2歳のころ。
もちろんその時点では、年齢や比較の意味などはわかっていませんでした😸
それでも、ゆめが楽しそうにこのお歌を歌っていた姿をよく覚えています。
DWEの中では、こうした表現がこの先何度も繰り返し登場します。
だからこそ、小さいうちは、「意味がわかってから次へ進む」ではなく、“わからなくても、楽しんでいる”こと自体を大切にすることがポイントです🌷

年齢に関するやり取りはこの曲でしか出てこないので、まずはSAかSBSでこの曲の映像を見ながら聞くことをおすすめします🙌
(おすぬは最初SA音源とSPばかり見せてしまっていたので、この曲に全然ハマらず、意味も理解してないな〜という状況でした😓)
ここでしか出てこないとはいえ、この曲で遊べばすぐにこのやり取りは身につけることができます◎
後半は自分の家族の年齢に置き換えて歌ったり、お友達に置き換えると”自分事”になってしっかり理解できるようになります。
このやり取りは初対面の時によく使うので、英語のお友達とビデオレターを始めるときなど、ぜひ実践でも使っていきましょう✊️ 実際にディズニーでプリンセスに会った時も必ず聞いてもらえていたので、このやり取りができると”自分で英語で答えられた！”と自信につながるのではないかな😊と思いました。
